" The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."-  Mahatma Gandhi

In the words of the Mahatma “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Service encompasses compassion, fostering dignity and imbibing stronger human relationships. The greatest miracle is that when we share more, we receive more. Children can be a path breaker and become a path bearer towards an expected illuminated society where discrimination will cease and empathy towards fellow beings will be on a rise. Their budding minds which long for uncompromised happiness should be made aware that sharing what we own can provide a gaiety and make them humanely human. Following the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Mother Teresa , TIGPS Durgapur has tried to follow the path that usher to the journey of being companionate and considerate of other’s feelings and actions through various social service campaigns in the session 2022-23

The Student Council under the guidance of the teachers collected, dry food, fruits, stationaries, warm clothes and even donated new clothes to the slum children in the outskirts of Bidhannagar before the Christmas Vacation. The day was emotional for the students who recollected that they felt amazed to witness joy in simplest of actions as they understood a great learning which probably only life as a teacher can offer that ,the greatest joy that goodness through silent actions have profound significance not only in the lives of the deprived, but also on the ones who are privileged to have helped.

Donate eateries and other essentials things to Malandighi Old Age Home

The junior and the senior students had visited the Malandighi Old Age Home where almost 50 senior citizens were residing. The students had collected fruits, sweets and other essentials of the hour like sanitizers, cleaning materials, face masks and basic safety aid things which would be useful to them. The students had an enriched day as they got to meet the people whose experience and unconditional love acted as a great moral booster to them. It was an emotional encounter for the children, the staff who accompanied and the inhabitants of the old age home. Everyone took away their share of happiness and learning from the day, needless to say that the takers of the day were the children, who learnt the greatest lesson that every life is extraordinary. Each life has love to offer and receive and one should go on trying to survive through persistence and spread peace without being vindictive and whining about entities in a world which is so deprived of goodness and forgiveness.
